Week 4-2, I took the supplemental route
I have finished my second workout of Week 4-2. I chose to add the supplemental week podcast before going from Week 4 to Week 5. At Week 5, you run three 8 minute intervals. I felt that was a huge jump, doubling your running time. I would like to thank Todd for adding that supplement. I feel much more confident with a 6 minute run now. I can do the Week 5 thing now. I can't believe how much better conditioned I am feeling. I am not about to fall over every time I jog. I am still slow, I average about a 16 minute mile but I am gaining ground every day. I plan to enter a real 5K in June. Training 5 days a week. I hope to be ready to run the whole thing by then. This has been a great training tool for me. A huge kudos to @ToddLange. Have a great week.

Week 4- The running increases
I finished Week 4 on Thursday and was surprised at how easily I jogged the 4 minute intervals. The conditioning is working. I also connected with Todd Lange on Linked In. I really am impressed at the difference having Todd in my ears on the podcast makes. He is a good trainer to keep you pushing forward. I know I am almost ready to tackle week 5 but I think I will take the weekend and do the supplement of week 4-2 a few times before I jump right in to week 5. I wish my weight would move too. I just eat too much on the weekend. I am pretty good all week at school and then Friday comes and I just overindulge on food and drink. I am not giving up on this program though. I hope my weight comes down but even if it doesn't, being in good condition helps your health too. I plan to make a YouTube video to promote this soon. I just want to tell everyone what a good program it is. I highly recommend it.

Week 3-Day 1
Yes! I did it. All 200+ pounds of me ran a 15 minute mile. I made it to Week 3. Week 3 is where you go from 2 1/2 minute runs to the 3 minute run. You have 5 intervals of 3 minute runs followed by 2 minute walks. The first interval was brutal. By the 3rd interval I had toughened up enough to keep going. The 5th interval I was in the zone. I can't believe a 46 year old chunky woman could do so well in so little time. I can't say enough good things about this program. 5K101.com was a great find. I couldn't do it without Todd Lange's encouraging podcasts and apps. Thank you. I am looking forward to finishing strong this week.
Week2- Days 2-7
Well Week 2 has flown by as well. By the time I ended the week with my sixth workout of Week 2, it seemed pretty easy to jog 2 1/2 minutes for the 5 intervals. I feel quite satisfied with my performance. I am sure it is the podcast that is making it easy for me. Having Todd Lange motivating and encouraging me keeps me going. I am quite impressed with the program. I am looking forward to getting further in the program and to actually participating in my first actual race. I like how the program eases you in and doesn't wear you out so you don't feel like quitting. Thanks Todd for making your program available for free.

Week 2- Day 1
Well, this has been a test to me. I am in Wheeling visiting my family and I still made time to work in the Workout. Week 2 started today. The podcast ramps it up a little bit now. This week, the workout is 32 minutes long, a full 5 minutes more than last week. Now the order is warmup-5 minutes and 5-5minute intervals-2 1/2 minutes running followed by 2 1/2 minutes walking. That extra 30 seconds after my day of rest, seemed pretty long the first and second interval. I had adjusted by the 3rd interval. I also did the whole workout outside on the walking trail, because the weather is finally warm enough. Last week, I walked and ran in the house because of the ran and cold. Only 9 weeks until swimsuit season. I hope to lose a bit of weight and gain some definition to my muscles before that time. I have gained too much weight this winter and am hoping to turn myself around before I gain anymore. I am getting older and it is too easy to just put on weight. Very proud that I ran all 5 intervals. This is the most I have ever run before.
Week 1-Day 5-7
I just had to make hay while the sun shines. I have now completed week 1 with a total of 6 workouts on this level. Day 7 I took a day of rest and got mentally prepared to start Week 2. Just pretty proud. Gotta keep it up when I go back to school Monday.
Week 1- Day 4
Still going. I am just so proud of myself. This is the 4th day in a row that I made sure to do my workout. I am running the 2 minutes pretty well now. I could move on to the next one, but I am trying to do a whole week of each section so I don't get burned out. Still eating too much but this week is about getting the workout established. Posted on daily mile. Feeling stronger.
Week 1- Day 3
Still didn't take a rest day. I am on Spring Break after all. So today it seemed like the 2 minutes of running wasn't too bad. My knee started to hurt some though. I want to build up my speed and stamina. I did the run and later did Walk Strong with Leslie Sansone. The weights made my arms ache.
Week 1-Day 2
Day 2- I decided not to rest. I figured I need as much exercise as I can get. The workout for week 1 in 27 minutes long. I feel like I should exercise more than that. I did try to stretch today too. It is getting a little easier. I'm glad I am on Spring Break. Hope I can keep it up after break.
Week 1-Day 1
I started working on learn something from a podcast for my TIS blog and thought I wanted to try the couch to 5 K because I wanted to know if I could learn to run. I have always been a "big girl" and I also have always believed I could walk, but never run. So I decided I needed to try and see if I could do it. I downloaded the podcast and started to do it. Week 1 is broken down into a 5 minute warm-up, followed by 4 intervals of 5 minutes-where you run for 2 minutes and then walk for 3. The first time I did it, I was exhausted, but I did it! I didn't stop for the whole 2 minutes. I was very proud of me. I logged into www.dailymile.com and signed up and I also liked the Facebook page of Running Mate and started following @Toddlange on Twitter. Trying to get myself motivated and psyched up for the challenge.
